Hey guys and girls...Here's my proposal

Amy and Desirae have decided to do a collaborative project and organize a poetry event. This will be a way Desirae can express herself to the public by being the host of the event and getting her poetry out there. Amy will be assisting her throughout the entire event, as they will both have to promote the event to the public by designing flyers, placing them around campus. They will also need to put together a website so people could know more about the rules and expectations of the poetry event. Throughout the process they will be documenting everything using a video to record various tasks, along with recording people who will be in the event, reading/performing their work to others. This will be used to composite a video later on to show a behind the scenes look at what took place. It will also show how people were feeling before and after they went up in front of a group of strangers and also what others who attended the event thought.

This event will allow people from all around the State College area to come together and read their poetry out loud to others. It will give them an opportunity to step outside of their usual comfort zones, as this will also be a way for them to put themselves out to the public.

The main goal for this project is get people do something they have never done before and allow them to open up more and get to know people on a personal level. Many people become very vulnerable when speaking in front of people they do not know (as this may not apply to everyone), especially when they are reading poetry. However, by them expressing themselves to an audience, they can get the courage to face other future experiences in life, as this is a very important characteristic of what makes them who the are. Inspiring is the key goal here because many people do not have the courage to step outside of themselves sometimes, but once they see someone else do it, there is something inside of them that clicks and gives them a change of thought. This will allow them to be a better person, look at life in a way they have never done before, or simply smile just because what they heard was very touching and beautiful.
